Although Trump claimed Musk had no problem with the bill, the latter first hinted he did not support the project last month. While speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency subtly criticized the President.

"I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it," Musk confessed. He claimed it bill undermined the work he and the DOGE team did, adding:

"I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful. But I don't know if it can be both. My personal opinion."

Following Musk's social media rants, several people called him out for suddenly changing his tune after supporting Trump for months. The list of critics, including Goldberg, whom The Blast reported, slammed the businessman during an episode of "The View."

The Hollywood veteran implied that Musk was the last person who should be complaining about the bill, given his work with DOGE, which had destroyed so many lives. She claimed the department's relentless layoffs in the federal government did more harm than good.

"I do wonder why Elon thinks people are gonna listen to him again because he just spent several months destroying people's lives. Nowsuddenly you woke up? You came out [of] your fog?" Goldberg berated Musk.

Fellow panelist Sunny Hostin echoed similar sentiments, noting the billionaire did too much damage for anyone to care about his complaints.

Musk threw shots at Trump on June 3, vehemently slamming the president's "Big Beautiful Bill" on X. The Blast shared that he described the bill as a "massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill" that was "a disgusting abomination."

The business mogul further slammed those who voted for the bill, claiming they were wrong. He stressed that the agenda would burden "citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt" before continuing his rant in more posts about Congress making America bankrupt.

Unfortunately for Musk, his complaints received more criticism than support. MAGA fans bashed him for publicizing his differences with Trump, with someone claiming he had no respect for the president. Another implied Musk was against the public's will, claiming the majority voted for Trump's tax cuts.

The trouble between Musk and Trump has reportedly been brewing for months, with reports claiming he owed the president $100 million out of the $300 million he committed to support his re-election.

Another instance of trouble occurred when Trump set up a meeting with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, one of Musk's most outspoken critics. The Tesla CEO was allegedly upset when he found out about the meeting, and it was pushed back to pacify him.

The pair's friendship also endured tensions from Musk's frequent clashes with Trump's officials. He insisted that some of the POTUS' key appointees undermined his role at DOGE by refusing to acknowledge his efforts to reduce the government's spending.

Can Donald Trump and Elon Musk overcome this rift in their friendship, or are they officially over?
